EE4 Multiple Event Registration – Prevent Users from Accessing Free Tickets

Hello,

We are having problems setting up our multi-session, multi-day conference using the EE4 Multiple Event Registration.

Our issue is that we need to keep users on separate ticket/event tracks once they have chosen a registration option.

It is crucial that only users who have paid for the full conference program are able to access and register for the free individual seminars and all other users should only be able to access and register for the $50 individual seminars.

Currently, each seminar is set up as a separate ticket. Our idea is to have duplicate tickets for each seminar, and to keep those completely separate on the site so that:

Full Conference Program users – must be able to view and register for free individual seminars and cannot have any access to $50 individual seminars (to avoid confusion).

Individual Seminar users – must only be able to view and register for $50 individual seminars, cannot have any access to free individual seminars

Free Exhibit Hall users – just need them to register – cannot have any access to free individual seminars

The problem is that after users select any ticket, a box pops up giving them the option to Return to Events List, Proceed to Registration, or view Event Cart.

As you know, the default is to take users back to the complete list of events. We are currently using a filter to redirect users back to this page:
https://refitshow.com/event-selection/

We wanted to be able to control the page content and how it displays, but it’s mainly a placeholder until we can figure out how this is all going to function because right now all users are able to access all seminars and options, which does not work as we could end up giving away a lot of seminars for free.

Please advise on how we can make this work so that we can ensure access is limited where it needs to be.

It may be easier to discuss on the phone; if so, please call me at 207-332-5912.

Thank you.

Hi Nicole,

The only way I can think of doing this off hand is to use the WP User Integration add-on to register the users as members of the site, and set the free events to Members only events. Then after they register for the conference, they will become members of the site and have access to the free events.

Would that work for you?

Hi Jonathan,

That sounds like it will work. We will give it a try.

Thank you.
