Please confirm that WP Mobile Detect is still the suggested WP Plugin to use (WP indicates it has not been maintained recently). THX

Yes, it is.

If you want to use a version of WP Mobile Detect that uses an updated version of the Mobile Detect Library, this alternative is available from Github:
https://github.com/joshfeck/wp-mobile-detect
