I could not respond to the previous post on the topic of FirstData and EE4, as it was closed, so I’ve started a new one.

reference previous post:

The “man in the middle” approach of using Mijireh adds additional costs to running Event Espresso. Version 3 was very elegant for having the FirstData payment gateway built into the plugin.

Will you return to this simplicity and elegance in future updates of EE4, or is the “man in the middle” extra cost approach the new standard?

Also, will you continue to update EE3 moving forward for those of us that prefer it to EE4 (given that version 4 has shortcomings by comparison)?

Hi, we will be rolling out new payment gateway add-ons once our payment gateway rewrite has been completed.

This will be wrapped up later this year.

Mijireh is helpful in two cases:

1) A native payment gateway is not currently available for Event Espresso 4

2) A merchant does not want to handle PCI compliance from their end (e.g. SSL certificates)

For Event Espresso 3, we will be providing support for two more years and we will announce well in advance before dropping support for it.

Our client has already paid for a Wildcard SSL for the year to manage the payments. I’ll investigate Mirijeh. I’m looking to elegance and simplicity. If the Mirijeh is that solution then great, if not, then that is fine too.

Thank you for sharing the development schedule with me. I appreciate it.
