When sharing any EE4 event on Facebook, the preview shows the date the event was created, NOT the date of the actual event. It also shows the title & post creator as well, but that’s not as much of an issue, though if I could remove them I would.
Because it shows the event creation date, people think the event has passed and aren’t clicking to purchase tickets.
I’ve tried adding this css to my Divi theme, it hides the info on my website, but it doesn’t affect how the event shows up in Facebook posts . . .
.espresso_events .post-meta {
display: none;
}
Help?
In this case the change will be specific to the Divi theme (by Elegant Themes) because the publish date is added by the theme. You could check Divi’s Blog settings to see if there’s a setting to not display the publish date. If that’s something you need help finding you could contact Elegant themes and ask them how they recommend removing the publish date from those posts. Please note that any CSS hacks to hide the date will not work in this case, because Facebook takes the actual html from the page.
