Recently switched from EE3 to EE4 and liking it a lot so far (looking forward to promo codes). However one thing has changed, and that is that after transactions are complete, EE no longer passes on the name of the event to PayPal, at least in the same field it did with EE3.
In the prior version, it would pass the name of the event to the Item Title field. Now, it just gives it ‘Event Registrations from Bay Area Christian Church.’
We rely on the PayPal reports being able to differentiate between each event for accounting purposes. Is it possible to change this back to function like it used to in this area?
Event Espresso 4 sends over the information using the shopping cart feature for PayPal. Could you try retrieving that data one more time and toggle the shopping cart option as shown in this screenshot?
That did it, thank you for that! The option was buried in PayPal, hadn’t seen that screen before. Thanks.
It looks like it passes along the ticket name to the shopping cart field. Is it at all possible to append the Event Title to that? If not I’ll need to add the event title to each ticket name manually (so I can tell the difference between two entries that may read “General Admission,” but are from different events, for example).
Hi Mike, we considered that but there is a length limit on the item name field. This is a restriction from PayPal so we opted to provide that information in the shopping cart contents area which does not have the same length restriction.
