EE4 Event Payment Details email – Social Links

Hi,

I have set up links to profiles on all of the social links except instagram.

When I send out an email (like the Event Payment Details email), it has three Social links on the bottom of it. Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Where are the others and why is it that only the Facebook and Twitter buttons link to their respective profiles while the Google+ button has no link attached to it?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi there Paul,

The social media links that are shown depend on the message template that you are using. I looked at the Event Payment Reminder template and I can see that the shortcode for the Google + URL is missing a bracket:

http://cl.ly/image/2T0l0u0X0T2k

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We’ll get this corrected.

To correct this on your install:

1) Login to your WordPress admin

2) Locate Event Espresso in your WordPress admin menus. Then click on Messages.

3) From the Messages screen, click on one of the messages context. In this example, we are clicking on the context for the primary registrant: http://cl.ly/image/360W130L341B

This will take you to the Messages editor for this context.

4) Locate the main content window and scroll down to the bottom of the template. Then click on Google+ and click on the edit link button on the WordPress editor toolbar.

5) Then change CO_GOOGLE_URL] to [CO_GOOGLE_URL] and click on Update. Then save changes to the template.

The other social media links such as Pinterest and Instagram can be added to the templates using the appropriate shortcode. Here is a complete list which is also available in the right side of the Messages editor screen under “content:”.

[CO_FACEBOOK_URL]
[CO_TWITTER_URL]
[CO_PINTEREST_URL]
[CO_GOOGLE_URL]
[CO_LINKEDIN_URL]
[CO_INSTAGRAM_URL]

Cheers

Lorenzo

Thanks. That worked.

Just FYI, the same issue exists for the Registration Approved message for both the Primary Registrant and the Registrant variants.

Hi Paul,

I was able to see the issue with other templates. That was also mentioned in the bug report to the developers yesterday.
