The only threads that I have found for this relate to EE3. Basically I would like to know whether it is possible to have EE4 handles dates in a consistent way, as the date picker seems to use the same format (M/D/Y) regardless of the localisation settings in WordPress…
This causes problems in that we end up with 50% of our users just entering the date directly and others using the date picker, so there is no consistency in terms of actually being able to do anything with this data…

There is a feature request to have that localized for a future version of Event Espresso 4. Here is an example of what it might look like:

Is there any practical way the date fields themselves can enforce a certain formatting for the date field? (even if the date picker was completely disabled)

Hi,
That would require some custom coding for new validation.
You could try adding some help text next to the label for the question:
