Hi there

Using WP 4.1, EE4 4.5.0.beta.032, and Ticketing (EE4+) version 1.0.0.beta.004.

Two questions around ticketing and custom ticket templates:

1) what is the correct file path to override the css files for the ticket templates? eg uploads/expresso/tickets/

2) how do you include answers to custom questions on the ticket template from the admin screen? We have custom questions for delegates such as ‘job title’ and ‘country’ – the answers need to be displayed under the name field on the ticket. It isn’t that clear from the documentation how to use the [QUESTION lIST] shortcode and specify specific questions/answers to include.

Many thanks!

Hi Chris,

You can place new css files at any location so long as you register a new Ticket template variation. Here’s a link to the developer portal that outlines how:

Re including answers: This feature hasn’t been added yet.

Hi Josh

Thanks for the clarification re css.

Do you have any idea when the custom questions/answers feature will be available for use on the custom ticket template? It’s really quite important for us as the event is an international conference that requires the job title and country to be shown on the tickets at minimum. It’s a bit confusing at the moment as the custom ticket template edit screen shows [QUESTION LIST],[QUESTION] and [ANSWER] as available shortcodes, we thought this was an active feature.

Thanks again for your assistance.
Best wishes
Chris

Hi Chris,

I can clarify a few things about using the [QUESTION_LIST] shortcode with ticketing. As of Event Espresso beta 4.6.0.beta.146, the [QUESTION_LIST] shortcode will loop through all the custom questions asked on the reg form. So if you update to the current beta, you can put something like this within the [QUESTION_LIST] section:

We asked: [QUESTION]
You answered: [ANSWER]

That will loop through and displayall the custom questions. For a system question like Country, you can place [RECIPIENT_COUNTRY] within the main content section and it will display in the main content section.

The feature we are going to add after Event Espresso 4.6’s initial release is the ability to pull a specific answer from the custom questions via a new [RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*] shortcode.

Hi Josh

Thanks for the update re [QUESTION_LIST], it sounds like it’s getting closer to what we need – do you know what the likely timescales for implementing the specific answers/questions feature is likely to be after the initial release of EE 4.6?

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,

Sorry we can’t give timescales like that.

As with most things, development priorities are continually shifting, and sometimes put back, so providing a time scale is often meaningless as it might change tomorrow, or next week.

Sorry about that.

Hi Dean

We thought that might be the case! OK, we’ll keep a look out and hope to see the feature available soon.

Best wishes
Chris

Thanks Chris,

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. Keep an eye on the Change Log when new versions come out, as minor features/changes are listed there rather than announced ina blog post. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/
