EE4 – Change from Not Approved to Pending Payment doesn't allow person to pay

Hi,

I have an event registration default status set to “Not Approved”. But then when I change the registrant in the backend from Not Approved to Pending Payment the system does not allow the registrant to pay.

The “make a payment” link in the pending payment email directs the registrant to a registration checkout page with the following message:

Important Notice:
The following events do not require payment at this time and will not be billed during this transaction. Billing will only occur after the attendee has been approved by the event organizer. You will be notified when your registration has been processed. If this is a free event, then no billing will occur.

So, for an event with default status set to Not Approved, how can I approve them and still require them to pay? Because if I set their status to Approved, then they get registered. Or if I set them to Pending Payment they can’t pay.

Hi Delray,

Are you using any caching plugins? The reason I ask is because it should allow them to pay when they click on the link from the Registration Pending Payment email.

Hi Josh,

My site is hosted on WPEngine which uses their own WP caching system, which I don’t believe I can disable. I cleared the cache and that seemed to solve the problem.

Do you expect this problem to reoccur if the caching system is enabled?

Hi Delray,

I also use WP Engine for my personal projects and they have a custom caching system setup. They do allow you to turn off caching for specific pages but I’m not sure about plugin files:
