EE4 – Barcode scanning – No match of registration

Hi,

I’ve just purchased two barcode scanners of type Datalogic QuickScan QBT2400.
Managed to pair one of them with my iPad.
Testing to scan tickets and the QR seems to work on both printed ticket and on computer plus SmartPhone (iPhone 6).

But the other barcode (lots of lines in parallell) is not taken by the scanner device, neither paper.

When scanning the QR code, the error message I get when doing a Lookup Attendee is:
“Sorry, but the given registration code does not match a valid registration”.

On the ticket, the number beneath the QR code and the “other” code is numerical and goes like this: 75-7-1919

But when the scanner transmits what is scanned on the QR code it reads a whole lot more: 1+19f9328b248203abaa380e151f6e59d2

Which number series should the barcode scanner actually send to the iPad?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,
Andreas

Hi again!

You can ignore this one!

Had to program my barcode scanners to Country Mode=Swedish.
Once that was done, it worked! πŸ™‚

Seems that the only difference was that after the first character in the long number series was a + (plus) sign, when it actually should be a (minus) sign/character.

Now I have to figure out how to get the barcode scanner to send a “send” command so that the lookup takes place automatically. πŸ™‚

If you have any idea of how with these types of scanners, just give a heads-up! πŸ™‚

If you want, you can close this support issue as “solved”.

Kind regards,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for letting us know you got this working.

I can’t offer any advice for auto submission but I’m wondering if you found a solution?

Hi Tony!

Thank you!
I am glad to keep you updated as it could potentially help someone else that might face the same issues as I did.

I have not found a solution for the auto-submission yet.
The button next to the text field where the barcode should be typed that states GO. Is this a SUBMIT button?
Does it respond to pressing ENTER on the keyboard?

If so, maybe I could configure the barcode scanner to submit an ENTER once the barcode has been sent from the scan.

Kind regards,
Andreas

Yes the Go button is a submit button.

Also if you are currently within the input field where the code is entered then pressing enter should submit the code.
