Hi

Not sure what the correct forum is to place this in since there isn’t a specific EE4 one.

I have been building a custom theme for a hospitality events site on and off the past few weeks. Although I have worked around some of the limitations when it comes to making a theme there is one bit I would suggest adding a a feature.

That feature is the ability to have long descriptions with formatting, bullet points etc. The reason behind this is its currently best designed to fit very short description of a ticket but when you need to be more detailed and want to add some formatting like bullets points etc it gets a bit messy.

Currently I have figured out how to edit the core plugin files to add a wysiwyg to TKT_description on the back-end and limit characters when the description appears in tables. Which works kind of alright for now but I will need to implement these changes whenever the plugin is updated….. which isn’t the most ideal solution.

The solution for this I would see is that (if willing) EE developers just implement a simply change like I did myself.

I would suggest adding the ability to more freely edit more of the template functions like the ticket summary table etc. Obviously that is a lot more work require for that..

Any it would be interesting to hear peoples views on this and well discuss with EE developers to see if they are willing to implement any changes.

I might even be being a bit stupid and missing a descent solution that is available.

Hi Andy,

How are you today?

Thanks for reaching out. What problems are facing exactly; is it just a matter of space?

A WYSIWYG would be nice, and I think we’ve evaluated doing earlier but ran into undue problems or maybe that project is just in the backlog right now.

When using HTML I can get good results. Take a look: http://www.screencast.com/t/DDG7a1C5

Sorry I was out most of last week due to illness.

Yes, Space is a issue since the description is used on the main ticket description as well as in the pricing table. That means anything more than a sentence can make the table look bad and currently my client needs to add a few paragraphs with bullets points etc.

So code to cut out long descriptions on the pricing table would work to keep things a lot more tidy. You can see even see in the screen cast that is doesn’t look very good.

Yes HTML is good and I personally prefer it over a WYSIWYG, but the issue is not everyone is a experienced web developer like myself and have no clue what a <p> tag is.

Could you post a link so we can get more information on this issue?
