Hi, I’m considering EE4 for my company and I have a specific questions regarding the API and integration with Intacct.
Will the EE4 API allow us to integrate via API with Intacct (our new accounting platform that replaces Quickbooks)? The goal would be to send customer & payment information to Intacct, so we don’t need to do this manually.
I tried researching it, but I’m having a hard time getting a clear understanding.
The EE4 API currently allows you to read various info from within EE4. So an integration add-on could be built to read the info from EE and then push that into to Intacct using their API, however that wouldn’t necessarily need to use the EE4 API to do this as there are various hooks throughout EE that can used for various triggers to send the data to Intacct.
The data will need to be read from EE4, ordered into the format the Intacct API is expecting and then sent to them through their API to do its part.
In short the EE4 API could be used to read the info, then use the Intacct API to send that data to Intacct however an integration add-on would need to be built to sit in the middle which would handle triggering updates when registrations/payments are made etc and outputing the data in the correct format.
