EE4 and WPML

There are a lot of older posts about this, but I do not see any solution for this. I want EE4 to work with WPML. Since EE4 uses custom post types I can activate the Venues and Events in WPML to use the plugin, however there is no option when editing Venues and Events to connect it to a translated version.

WPML works really out of the box, if you register a custom post type yourself it will instantly work, so I do not really get the issue here. Saw a post on WPML forum that EE uses not the default WordPress routes?

Hello,

WordPress custom post types do not provide enough flexibility to do what we need to do in Event Espresso 4, so we have created our own hybrid custom post types system. We have tried to work this out with the WPML authors, but neither side has an understanding of how the other system works.

Basically, much of the content (times, dates, ticket names, etc.) that is output by EE4 comes from a compilation of custom tables, not just WP post tables, so WPML can’t process that data effectively. That’s my understanding, anyways, so someone may have to write a custom plugin to translate the EE4 data on the fly.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.
