I am about to build a new wordpress website. I’d like ultimate compatibility with the new EE4. It looks like certain themes are recommended. How can I see demo’s of those themes? Is there a way to see the demos and how they integrate with EE4? Do I have to use one of the themes suggested or will any wordpress theme seamlessly integrate with EE4?

Hi,
Generally speaking, any theme that follows WordPress coding standards (http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development#Theme_Development_Standards) should work well with Event Espresso. Some themes do not do this and that is where issues arise.
You can install Event Espresso 4 on a site and then activate and deactivate different themes through Appearance –> Themes.

If you want to see a demo with any theme and Event Espresso, you can try to request that of the theme author. At a minimum they can download Event Espresso Decaf (https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-espresso-decaf/) and try their them and EE4 together, or they can contact us and request access to our private github repository if they want special access for maintaining and enhancing compatibility.

Thanks. Any chance any of you have seen EE used with the GYM-FItness Center theme from Envato Market? http://themeforest.net/item/gym-sport-fitness-bootstrap-responsive-theme/full_screen_preview/6656015 This is my fav. theme. I’m hoping it’s compatible with EE4!

Hi Tamara,
I haven’t seen that theme used with EE before, but I checked it out. It is throwing a jQuery error message from the slider: http://cl.ly/image/3g1m1q2o143i
You may want to talk with the developer about this before purchasing the theme. It could cause plugin compatibility issues.
