This is another feature that I thought I’d read somewhere was going to be part of EE4, but don’t see. I see other people asking about it, so I’m pretty sure it’s not in there. Here is one example:
This topic is closed, but I would like to point out that Jonathan’s suggestion is pretty unsatisfactory. I’m not sure if an event whose registration is closed will allow you to make changes like that, but it’s a very messy way of doing things. This is actually another reason to implement Event Duplication (as opposed to datetime duplication).
Another post I found was similar — the suggestion was to use MER to register for six months worth of classes. That’s fine, except it’s totally messy from a record-keeping pespective, since you can’t decrement your available seats as people buy tickets.
Just my two cents. It would be nice to know how to be notified when a feature like subscription pops up.
Event duplication should be available in EE 4.3 if all goes to plan.
Recurring Events is still a way off as we are prioritising other addons before it (discounts and promotions for one).
Recurring billing has been a requested feature. Now, we are changing the payment gateway system at the moment to make it more flexible, so it is possible that this feature might appear in the future. Of course, I can’t make guaranteed, while it has certainly appeared on our internal wishlist, going from wishlist to release doesn’t always happen.
