EE4 All Day Events

I have just installed and configured EE4 on a client’s site. This client has a
lot of different types of events, some all day, some running over several days (without specific times) as well as some that only run for a couple of hours.

Hence the need for an “all day” option on both the event page, event list and calendar. I have come across this thread and have installed the advanced custom functionality plugin and have added “espresso_events” with the custom function code that was in the original thread into a singe event but the time is still showing?

On a separate note (and sorry if I should put these in separate topics), there are about 10 different event organisers and it’s important to the client that the organisers details come up on the event page, event list page and description in the calendar. I know that this has already been submitted as a feature request, but do you have any recommendations on how we could configure this into the site using the functionality that is existing and already available? I.e. setup each event organiser as a venue and customise the wording in the venue core templates or use the excerpt section? is there a way to pull the short excerpt into the event list page and calendar instead of the long description?

I’m not sure which thread or code you are referring to as there is no link above?

Which plugin are you using?

I.e. setup each event organiser as a venue and customise the wording in the venue core templates or use the excerpt section?

Repurposing any section to something other than intended (using Venues for Event Organizers) is just going to cause more problems down the line. When all of you ‘venue’ data is assigned as event organisers and EE attempts to use that data in any other way than you are expecting its going to cause problems.

For event organizers could you not use the People Add-on?

You can set the organizer as the author of the event to receive the notifications from the event but then also setup them up as a ‘person’ on the event and display that person’s details within the event automatically.

Is that not what you are looking for?

For the event list, go to Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates.

Under ‘Event List Pages’ you’ll find the option ‘Display Description’

You can set which output should be used there.

For the calendar you should only see the excerpt anyway, can you link me to a page I can view it on, please?
