EE3 Promo Code Vs. Coupon Codes

Hi,

We are having some confusion with the promo codes and coupon codes. Can you tell me the difference between the two? And why only coupon shows in the report download but not promo codes used?

Hi Katie,

I think the two terms Promo and Coupon are used interchangeably. That said, there’s a Voucher Code field that’s added by the Groupon add-on for EE3, which is a separate field.

Is there any way to get the promo codes to show up in the downloadable reports?

Can you clarify what you mean by Promo code? Event Espresso 3 only has one type of discount code and it uses the term promotional and coupon interchangeable for the same thing.

We have 15 promotional codes that have been entered into the Manage Event Promotional Codes tab. When a user registers and they may have a promotional code that they then enter it into the registration field called promo code (last form field: https://www.healthpromotionconference.com/event-registration/?ee=17). However, this information is not collected and displayed when you download the Attendee CSV. There is however a coupon field in the CSV which is blank. And we are not using the “Groupon” Addon. So the main issue here is that we need that promo code to show up in the Attendee CSV. Any thoughts on why the promo code is not pulling into the CSV?

Hi Katie,

I’d expect it to should show up in the CSV, I’m not sure why it would not. If you go to view/edit the payment information for the attendees that used the promo/coupon code, is the code listed in the field there? Here’s a screenshot that outlines the field I’m referring to.
