Hello there,

I have just read a couple of earlier posts about permalinks being included in a update of EE3 – I can’t see how this can activated, though.

Can you point me in the right direct please?

Huge thanks,

Spencer

Hi Spencer,

Can you link those posts so I can see exactly what they are referring to please?

Hi,

Sorry, I was referring to this one in particular:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/permalinks-for-events/

I am looking to have the event title display in the url on the events registration page. However, I do know that the events page is not a post, so the WordPress permalink function doesn’t apply.

Our client will be running online adverts that link to specific events and doesn’t like the current url type: /event-registration?ee=4

Cheers,

Spencer

With EE3.1.XX the only way to do that is to use the ‘Create a Post’ feature that basically creates a Post with the same details as your event, you manage your event through Event Espresso and each time you edit/update the event it will update the post for that event.

As those event posts are standard posts you can use permalinks for their URL structure.

More information can be found here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-post-types-basic-setup/

EE3.2 was re-written (for various reasons) into what is now EE4 which uses custom post types for the events.

Ok, thanks Tony, that’s what I thought i.e. create the post. I’ll use them.

Thanks for your help.

Spencer
