Hi
We have a website for airsoft (like paintball). We looking for a system to sell event tickets for our players. Now I see the eventespresso 3 and that is great. But there is also the eventespresso 4… which of both must I buy, I don’t know?

Is the version 3 the old one?

And an other question… can I use EE3 or 4 in switzerland?

And we use the Avada Theme
http://themeforest.net/item/avada-responsive-multipurpose-theme/2833226?WT.ac=category_item&WT.seg_1=category_item&WT.z_author=ThemeFusion

Is EE3 or EE4 compatible?

cheers Jean-Pierre

Hi,

I would recommend taking a read of this article as it helps summarise the difference between EE3 and EE4.

In short, EE4 is the next generation, but it is in beta form, there are no add on plugins available for it yet, and the number of gateways is limited.

If you buy the EE3 licence you will get access to EE4 beta as part of your licence (this may change in the future).

Buying EE4 will NOT give you access to EE3.

You can also test out EE4 for free here http://demoee.org

“Is the version 3 the old one?”

EE3 is the current stable version. EE4 is the next generation version that is currently in open Beta.

“And an other question… can I use EE3 or 4 in switzerland?”

Event Espresso is international, so there should be no issues, but did you have a specific reasoning in mind? For example language? Payment processors? Something else?

“And we use the Avada Theme”

We can’t guarantee every theme will be compatible with Event Espresso. Generally if the theme is coded to WordPress standards, it increases the likelihood of there being no or few issues.

We have a list of known conflicts here – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/known-third-party-plugin-theme-conflicts/

Over the past year or so I can see 3 forum threads regarding Avada all of which were resolved and none were direct conflicts with Event Espresso, mostly down to styling issues, which can happen with any theme.

You can use Event Espresso light https://eventespresso.com/event-espresso-lite-preview/ to test out EE3 with your theme. There isnöt currently a way to test the theme out with EE4.

Hope that helps, please let me know if you have any more questions or need clarification.
