EE3 on live website can I add ee4 to staging site

I have used ee3 for years and I want to try ee4 on the staging site. we have moved all the information over from ee3 (all the events) to the staging site, will it automatically add these to the ee4 or will we need to add the events again?

Hello JoAnn, if you deactivate Event Espresso 3 and then upload and activating Event Espresso 4 on a live site, then it will prompt you to migrate.
