All events and name of attendees appears right but when we try to scan the QR CODE with the mobile app says DECLINED.
How can we resolve it?
With Ipad Air we have the list of events but not the attendees….Why?
Thanks!!

Hi Ana, were you previously testing checking-in on other devices or via the WP dashboard?

If those attendees were already checked in then the printed ticket would no longer allow an additional check-in.

Hi Ana, were you previously testing checking-in on other devices or via the WP dashboard?

Or devices? in IPAD it doesnt work

Via wp dashoboard? what does it means?

If those attendees were already checked in then the printed ticket would no longer allow an additional check-in. I dont understand this, they can check with printed ticket how?

Hi,

“were you previously testing checking-in on other devices or via the WP dashboard?”

What Lorenzo is asking is whether you were using the mobile App on the iPad or whether you were logged into the website’s admin area via the iPAd.

“If those attendees were already checked in then the printed ticket would no longer allow an additional check-in.”

In EE3, customers can be checked in either via the mobile app (manually or scanned) or via Event Espresso in the WordPress dashboard (manually).

I think what Lorenzo is asking, is whether these attendees had already been checked in previously. If they are already marked as checked in, scanning their ticket will return a Declined message.

We go to our event registration page- buy a ticket- we receive the registration confrimation where you can download the ticket- then we receive another email where you can find the ticket- we donwload it with no making any change at the wp dashboard… We go into ticketing app and when we scan th qr code DECLINED message appears.
Minutes later, we can see that the attendee has checking.

The message is REGISTRATION NOT FOUND with the DECLINED image

When we try to do it manually via checking the app on Ipad the application close inmediatly.
Then we go in again and the attendee appears as checked.

Hi Ana,

I’d like to take a look at the ticket, can you link me to it please?

And also a link to the event the ticket is for may help narrow this down.

If you prefer not to do so on the forum please send the links to email address you have previously used.

Hi Ana,

Thank you for the links, I’ve been looking over this and so far have been unable to identify the cause.

The same does not happen on any of my test sites with a similar set up.

I did notice your site is running on 40MB of memory.

Whilst that may not be the cause of the issue I highly recommending upping this limit to at least 96MB.

More info can be found here:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

Simply adding:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M' );

Will increase the limit. Note this must be done before (above) this line:

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

within wp-config.php, otherwise your custom value will be ignored.

Tony, I´ve changed the wp-memory limit to 96, We really need the app working…
what is happening?
Is because of event dates?
I´ve deactivated the plugins, after that I´ve activated again I´ve log out from my android app, log in again… and its not working…

My client and us are getting mad…

We ned to solve this issue

Thanks in advance

we are using a PLESK hosting, It is because of that?

Thanks in advance

PLESK is basically a control panel for your server, (similar to cPanel) as far as I know if should not cause these issues.

The app is working on all of my test sites, so this is something unique to your site.

If you enable WP_DEBUG and visit:

yourdomain.com/espresso-api/v1/events/public.pretty_json

Do you see any errors show on that page?

I´ve deactivated the plugins, after that I´ve activated again I´ve log out from my android app, log in again… and its not working…

When you say its not working, what isn’t working?
Can you log into the app?
Can you see a list of your events?
Can you see a list of registrations for an event?

When you say its not working, what isn’t working?
When we try to scan a qr code, the message is: Registration not found! So the tickets appears as DECLINED at IPAD. With androdid is also declined but for other reason, the message is already checking and we have not make the checking manually.

Can you log into the app?
YES WE CAN

Can you see a list of your events?
YES WE CAN

Can you see a list of registrations for an event?
YES WE CAN

Something is breaking the query for the registration within the API calls.

I had a quick look over one of your events and noticed the datepicker is in a different format that Event Espresso expects – http://take.ms/mFlQw

Event Espresso expects the dates to be yyyy-mm-dd – http://take.ms/L6a5U

Currently I suspect the sites theme is doing this, can test one of the default theme such as twentyfourteen? You can do with this altering the theme for your sites visitors using the plugin Theme Test Drive.

With twentyfourteen active, edit one of your events, check the dates are in the correct format (and the correct date) then save the event and retest the app for a registration on that event.

we change to ur format, but the default mode is ours (in our event espreso)

Sorry, I don’t understand what this means, can you explain further?

is posible to read the qr with other app?

The Event Espresso QR codes are standard QR codes, there are many apps that can read them, however with EE3 you’ll need to use the EE3 Ticketing App to use the data from the QR code to check the attendee in or out.

In other word, yes any app can read the QR codes, but they can’t not be used to check attendees in.

one more question, with event espreso 4 is posible to read QR codes?

EE4 is a completely different system.

Yes there are Printable tickets(like in EE3) and Yes there is the Ticket Scanning Add-on but there is no app integration that works in the same way as the EE3 Add-on. It is possible to scan tickets with a mobile device (see HERE) but it is not a full app integration.

If you are thinking of migrating to EE4 I highly recommend to do so on a development server before updating the live serve and be sure to have a full site backup before doing so. EE3->EE4 is not a simple upgrade, it’s a completely new system, so better to be safe than sorry.

If you prefer for us to troubleshoot this directly on your server we can do this with the purchase of 1 (or more) priority support token(s).

In default mode our dates looks differents than yours. But we have changed it manually.

So we need EE3 – working. Our client wants QR codes

Do You mean to fix Event Espresso mobile Aplication? If the answer is YES we can pay a prority support token.

We need that app. Working

One more thing

Perhaps…. Can the trouble be because permissions?

Event espresso: all files in 775
Ticketing: al files in 775
JSON _ API: al files in 755

Thanks in advance

Hi Ana,

I do not believe this is due to permissions. With the permissions above this should work as expected.

Do You mean to fix Event Espresso mobile Aplication? If the answer is YES we can pay a prority support token.

Yes, however the mobile applications itself is not the issue, something on your site is preventing the JSON API from working correctly, the app uses the JSON API to work with Event Espresso, so because the API can’t function correctly, the app can’t.

That make sense?
