EE3 invoice gateway back button warning

Using EE 3.1.37.5.P

The invoice gateway back button warning dialog appears when clicking to download a PDF invoice.

This issue was fixed in 3.1.34.1 in August 2013 so must have been re-introduced somewhere down the line. Please could it be rectified urgently as users do not know how to access the invoice .pdf when faced with a dialog which says “Confirm Navigation Warning!!! Using the back button will overwrite your existing registration. Are you sure you want to leave this page?”

Hi,

Generally speaking, that warning is intended to help prevent an overwrite as moving back via the back button and completing another registration will overwrite the prior one.

Could you walk us through the steps please?

You mentioned that it happens when clicking the invoice link.

Any custom templates running from an older version of Event Espresso?

Hi Lorenzo – yes /uploads/espresso/gateways/invoice/template.php could be a problem. In theory it is based on a recent version of EE but I guess I need to reconcile it with the latest release and re-apply the customisation it contains.

The warning should not pop up when you click on the invoice link, and this not something that we’ve seen since 3.1.34.

Your custom templates loading from /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates may need to be updated. You can try temporarily renaming that folder first, then if the issue goes away, you’ll know it’s an issue with your custom templates, which can be fixed by updating them to work with the current version of Event Espresso 3.

I updated /uploads/espresso/gateways/template.php to incorporate customisations with the latest code (extra fields of data to show).

When I also updated all the other /uploads/espresso/gateways/ files the dialog went away.

Thanks for your support.
