I’m using EE3. We have an event with about 300 attendees. I would like to bulk print all the tickets, sorted by last name, to keep for Will Call.

On the EE3 Attendees list, when I click on the Name header, the attendees are sorted by first name, rather than last name, with the result that members of same family are not together. Is there a way to sort by last name, or add a column “last”, to allow sorting by last name?

On right side of screen, I see icon to print individual ticket. How can I print multiple tickets for all, or selected attendees?

Thank you!!

Hi there,

Adding a new column is possible but would require custom development which is not something we can provide. You would need to contact a developer to have this included, you can find some developers that are familiar with EE here:

https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

However you could export the attendee list to excel and then use the sorting within that to sort by last name, would that work?

On right side of screen, I see icon to print individual ticket. How can I print multiple tickets for all, or selected attendees?

You currently can not print all the tickets at once, you would need to manually open each ticket and print each one from there.

Thanks for the quick reply .

The goal is simply to print out all tickets for the event, alphabetized by last name. Exporting all attendees to a spreadsheet for sorting by last name would result in me loosing access to the ticket printing icon. The sorting by last name would need to be done on the same Attendee webpage, so that the Ticket Printing icon is available.

Do you have any other recommendations? The event is this coming weekend, so there is no time for engagement of a developer.

Thanks!

The tables uses the DataTables library provide the sorting feature which is sorting the full string of the columns value, you don’t appear to be able to filter the string within the library (to sort based only on the second word within the string for example, which would be the surname in this case).

I looked over the code and confirmed its not possible to modify the table without altering the core plugin currently, we can request the function is made pluggable or a hook is included to altering this however that won’t help for your immediate event.

To allow sorting by lastname a new column would need to be added to the table, the first and last name split into individual columns and then those columns added to the datatables javascript to allow them to sort.

Are you using the latest version of Event Espresso 3? (currently 3.1.37.6)

Have you modified any of the EE core files?
