If someone has registered for an event and then I duplicate the event and change the date on the new duplicated event. The original registrations move with the duplicated event. They don’t stay with the current event.
I noticed this yesterday when I had to reschedule an event due to the weather.
I went into the system.
Duplicated an event that already had 3 people signed up for the particular class.
Changed the date on the duplicated event
Then, I noticed that the original registered attendees were no longer listed on the original event and had been moved and rescheduled to the newly duplicated event. So, even the original date they scheduled for changes…. so I can’t even check the scheduled class date in their registration.
This means that if I haven’t taught a class yet and it has people who have signed up for it…. and I want to duplicate that class in the following month. I would need to create a new event all over again.
It seems to me that if I duplicate a class, the attendees should not be moved. Is there a solution for this?
Can you go in and double check the original event and the duplicated event, and look at their ID’s? The original event’s ID will be a lower number. For example, if the original event’s ID is 45, the new duplicated event will have an ID of 46 or more.
Josh, I see what you are saying, the ‘original event’ has a higher ID than the ‘duplicate event’ so somehow I am mixing the two up. What am I doing wrong? Are there better instructions on how to tell the two apart?
The original event is always the one with the lower ID. This also means the original registrations did not move to the duplicated event. They stayed with the original event.
