i need to generate a list of courses
soonest event date first

that will go in a page template

Hi Blue,

One option you can look into is add a widgetized area to your page template, then you can display Event Espresso’s upcoming events widget there.

Another option you can do is query the event detail table and print it out in an html list, here’s some example code in a gist:
