EE3 App is not working

I bought EE3 License and I was very happy using it. And I made some customization to add a payment getaway (Where I paid 5000 to a programmer to do) and I add the certificate plugin and everything was fine. Suddenly, I found that EE3 is not supported anymore. This is so disappointing.

To make it worse I used the EE4 and the check-in app was a disaster most of the tickets were not readable by the mobile app.
Is there a way to make the EE3 work again or something??

Hi there,

You paid 5000 (something) for a custom payment gateway?

Suddenly, I found that EE3 is not supported anymore. This is so disappointing.

Where have you seen that information?

Currently, EE3 is supported, we will push security updates for EE3 although it is unlikely we’ll develop new features for EE3. New features will be added to EE4 but that does not mean we currently don’t provide support for EE3.

To make it worse I used the EE4 and the check-in app was a disaster most of the tickets were not readable by the mobile app.

I can see your previous thread on the app but I never received a response to be able to investigate this further and see what was happening.

We can investigate this further if you’d like to troubleshoot this?

Is there a way to make the EE3 work again or something??

You can de-activate EE4 (and its add-ons) and re-activate EE3 if you want to switch back to EE3.

You will NOT have any of the events/registration etc that were made in EE4 as it uses a completely different set of tables to EE3.

Thank you for your response.

Yes I paid 5000 SR = 1330 USD add (Sadad Payment getaway) https://www.sadad.com/en/pages/home.aspx

I don’t care about any new updates I am satisfied with the feature in EE3. By not supported I mean the “Event Espresso HD” app is not working I get this error message IOS Message. so what is the point of registering people if I won’t be able to check them in.

I didn’t reply the system was so unexpected, I mean the same ticket it could be scanned on one device and if you tried it on another it won’t so I was not able to find a suitable answer to your question.

Please confirm if there is an app to scan EE3 tickets so I can deactivate EE4 as soon as possible

Hmm ok, I don’t have an Apple device to investigate (Android user) but I have created a ticket for the warning so we can confirm what needs to be done with the app.

I didn’t reply the system was so unexpected, I mean the same ticket it could be scanned on one device and if you tried it on another it won’t so I was not able to find a suitable answer to your question.

Ok, but we can’t help troubleshoot if we don’t receive a reply. The more information we have on the problem the further we can narrow down possible causes.

We can work through troubleshooting EE4 if you want to stick with EE4?

No thank you.I prefer to go back to EE3. As soon as you fix the app issue.

The compatibility message shown when running the EE3 app is a notice from Apple when running iOS10 and using a 32-bit app.

Apple are apparently dropping support for 32-bit apps in iOS11 so display the above message on any apps that will need to be updated. If you close the message the EE3 app should currently continue to work as normal.

There is currently CSS being output on the EE3 JSON endpoints – http://take.ms/FNOe9

That’s not something Event Espresso includes in the output and is not valid JSON which is why the app is having problems reading the data.

Have you seen that CSS before?

Are you using a plugin to add that CSS to all pages of your site?

Great. Thank you.
But please confirm to me if there is any chance in the future you will stop support EE3.
Because I want to buy a new EE3 licence for a new website and i want to make sure that the EE3 app will be supported on the newer ios versions

Event Espresso 3 is getting security-related updates going forward. The apps for Event Espresso 4 will be supported for the newer iOS versions.

No because that’s beyond a security update.
