Per EE’s advice we are switching to a single event with 15 event datetimes this season instead of seperate events for each game.
However, now the EE upcoming events widget doesn’t allow me to select different datetimes within a specific event in the widget. It only allows an “event category”. Perhaps allowing assignemnt of categories to specific datetimes would solve the problem?
As of now, we do not have a way to use the upcoming event widget…
I’m not 100% sure what you’re asserting here. This is because the built in Upcoming Events Widget allows for displaying all the datetimes for an event -or- a range of dates for an event. If you need to display specific information about specific datetimes within a widget, there are a number of WordPress text widget options that let you have full control over what gets displayed in a widget. You can also contract with a developer to build a custom widget that will loop through datetimes instead of events.
I can’t find the option to display an actual event. The widget only allows selection of categories. If I could select the actual event I would probably have exactly what I need…
It turns out the Upcoming Events Widget displays a list of upcoming events. It isn’t intended to display information about one event. You can use a text widget to display information about one event.
