Hi,

When I was checking the status of our events today, I saw that EE needed to be updated. I tried to update EE, but it gave an error every time (tried 2 times).
I closed my browser, opened a new one en and logged in on our website. But then i saw that EE was uninstalled and deleted, without me doing anything. How can this be? And is there a way to ‘save’ my attendees-list?

I tried to install EE again, but it won’t. It gives errors and won’t install at all.

Hope u can help me guys.

Thank you.

Regards,
Angelo

Hi Angelo,

When you update a plugin, what WordPress does behind the scenes is download the new version, delete the current version and then extract the contents of the download to plugins.

But then i saw that EE was uninstalled and deleted, without me doing anything. How can this be?

So it sounds like there was an issue on the server side when it tried to delete the event-espresso-core-reg plugin directory.

And is there a way to ‘save’ my attendees-list?

Which attendees-list? The registrations within Event Espresso? They are stored to the database and should still be available. If you modified a file within EE then that will have been list (it would have been lost anyway if the update works as expected).

I tried to install EE again, but it won’t. It gives errors and won’t install at all.

What errors?

Does it say that the directory already exists?

Do you have FTP access to the site, or a file manager build into your hosts control panel?
