Hi there,

I’ve browsed the Event Espresso sites and forums and played a little with the demo installation. Overall it seems to be well suited for my use case, but there are one or two details where I would appreciate input!

Use case: A four day festival for which people register in advance and pay via bank transfer. With each ticket, some information has to be collected (like which kind of meal people prefer) and people should be able to order additional goodies like t-shirts.
Until now we use a handcoded registration script which is tailored to our needs. However, every change (new ticket type, new question) has to be coded by hand which is why we’d like to change to a more mature system.

Questions for Event Espresso:
1. Creating different kinds of tickets (“four day” pass, “three day” pass, …) is no problem. For people who register late, there should be a “late fee” added to their prices – the opposite of an early-bird discount. Is it possible to automatically raise the price for all tickets on a certain date?

2. When buying a ticket, people should be able to choose between different options (in our case: meal variants) which don’t affect the price. The easiest way is probably through required (radio type) questions for each participant. Is there a simple way to see how many people have chosen which option?

3. As an addendum to the question before: Is there a general statistics page per event that shows the total count of registrations, how they are split among the different tickets, how questions were answered?
Something like
– Current registrations (total): 293
– Registrations per ticket: 101 four day passes, 132 three day passes, …
– Question 1: 231 registrants have chosen option 1, 62 have chosen option 2
If not, is it possible to set this up?

4. Another addendum: Is it possible to list all people who have chosen a specific answer to a question? Like “Show me all people who ticked the ‘Yes, I want to volunteer’ box during their registration”?

5. Is it possible to offer additional goods such as t-shirts?

6. Is it possible to change the payment/registration id? A simple numbering like FESTIVAL001, FESTIVAL002, … would be much nicer than “371-450-1-4c25cb-0” ๐Ÿ™‚

7. Is it possible to batch-confirm payments? If I have a list of bank transfers and a list of pending registrations (in EE), it would be nice to mark all pending registrations for which a correct transfer came in and hit “Confirm all”. However, I only found the option to open a pending registration and confirm the payment on a designated mask.

Thanks for reading! Any answers will be much appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

Regards,

Philip

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Event Espresso. The answers below are generally for EE4, though I have mentioned EE3 related answers where applicable.

1) In EE4 you can handle this by having two tickets running, ticket A costs $10 and will expire on X date and ticket Y costs $15 is set to become active on the same date that ticket A expires. You wont be able to do this in EE3, you would have to set up a different event.

2) If the options don’t affect the price, then I would suggest using the custom questions to obtain the information. The data can then be exported to a spreadsheet and the data filtered in that.

3) Yes but it is quite basic, it merely shows the number of registrations and revenue per day (separate charts depending if you are in EE4’s registration or transaction page). There are no charts that display question data.

4) Again, only via exporting the data to spreadsheet and filtering that data.

5) In EE3 there is a Price Modifier addon that can allow this via the custom questions. EE4 doesn’t have that addon, but it’s easy enough to add it as an additional ticket type. e.g.

Ticket $10
ticket and tshirt $20
ticket and mug $15
etc

6) The ID’s are designed to be unique across all the events so if you name an event next year to Festival, then it wont conflict. That being said, it can be done with a small code snippet to filter the registration ID.

7) Not currently for transactions. This might appear in the future, but right now they have to be done individually.

I hope that all helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.
