We provide professional training as well as non-professional training/workshops and would like to clearly differentiate between the two and to limit confusion in bookings.

Can we have an ee-event e.g. …ee-events/professional/beginner-workshop/… or can we only show …/beginner workshop/? That is, can we list an event under Professional and then Beginner Workshop as the identifier?

Hi Joy,

Yes, there is an events category feature in Event Espresso so you could assign events to specific categories through the event editor.

You can also add a shortcode to a page to show specific events from a category. For example, if the category was “Professional training” — then this would be the shortcode:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=professional-training]

Additionally, Event Espresso has pages that are automatically created to show information from specific categories:

example.com/event-category/professional-training

Hi Joy,

That is an example of a link that is available on your own website. Event Espresso creates an event category link as new events are assigned to an event category

If you are using a current version of Event Espresso (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/), then you can assign events to specific event categories via the event editor and then you can see them on a page such as this one:

example.com/event-category/professional-training/

Note that example.com should be substituted to your own web domain.

If you had another category called “Winter Events” — then this would be the example of the URL:

example.com/event-category/winter-events/

If you are up to date and it isn’t working, then ensure that at least one event is assigned to the event category and then try refreshing your permalinks through WP-admin (WP dashboard) –> Permalinks.

Browsing to the permalinks page will refresh those permalinks.
