I know this has been a discussion before but my customer has brought it up again due to frustration of having to resize/crop all of their images to the exact size.
Painting with a twist calendar has all different size images but scale perfectly to be able to see the entire image.

On EE, the photos get cropped. There has to be a better way to upload a an image and it scale proportionally to fit within the box without cropping.

Hi Dorian,
That other site doesn’t use the jQuery Calendar plugin or even WordPress for that matter. It’s using PHP to generate that calendar. The Event Espresso calendar uses a heavily modified jQuery Calendar plugin to generate the calendar on the fly with JavaScript, and the heavily modified part involves adding the thumbnails.
If you want to have a calendar that works exactly like the one on the paintingwithatwist site you could contract with a developer and they could build you a custom implementation of the paintingwithatwist calendar.
