EE App- User will not see registrants data

One of our EE App users is not able to see registrations data in the app. He enters the app with the site url and his username/password, he can even see the event, but after clicking on registrations a blank screen appears. This only happens with one user, all other users having no problem. I myself, as admin, can see registrants for his event. How could we make registration data display for the user?

Hi there,

It sounds like the user does not have the correct capabilities on their account, which role are they using?

They are using a user-specific role created based on the editor role.

Please note, however, that this issue only occurs with one of the user, not with the role itself.

If you either log into the site using his account or use the User Switching plugin to switch to his account, then within the admin try to view the registrations do they display there?

Check the capabilities on that specific user (not the role) and confirm they have the ee_read_registrations and if the event is set to another user account they’ll need the ee_read_others_registrations. You can do that using the User Role Editor plugin and navigating to:

Dashboard -> Users -> {hover over user} -> Capabilities.

Yes, I can see as admin the registrations of the event for that user.

Yes, the user role has ee_read_registrations selected. The event is not set to another account.

Yes, I can see as admin the registrations of the event for that user.

So you logged into your admin account and viewed the registrations for this users event? If so that’s not what you needed to test.

If you either log into the site using his account or use the User Switching plugin to switch to his account, then within the admin try to view the registrations do they display there?

You need to see if you can see the registration using the other user account and viewing the registration in the admin rather than the app.

Yes, the user role has ee_read_registrations selected. The event is not set to another account.

So the users account is set as the event author for the event they are trying to view the registrations for?

So you logged into your admin account and viewed the registrations for this users event? If so that’s not what you needed to test.

Sorry, I explained myself badly. I login as the user, and I can see his registrations.

So the users account is set as the event author for the event they are trying to view the registrations for?

Yes, that is correct.

Hmm, ok.

Which version of the app are you using? iOS or Android?

Are you both using the same app?

Can you send over the login details for the user account so I can test this?

You can use this form https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Note if the user has access to more than one event and this happens on multiple events please provide details of the event on the form.

I have sent user account details so that you can test this.

Hmm, theres not response at all from your server when using Basic Auth, if I remove that header from the request I see a message about not having the required capabilites (expected as I’m then not logged in).

Have you checked your servers error logs a to see if there are any error being thrown when trying to log into the app?

Its possible this is a plugin conflict on the site that is only appearing when the user is not an admin, can you run through the troubleshooting steps here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/

To confirm if this is a theme/plugin conflict.
