EE Affiliate WP integration calcs referrals on total price not net

Running into a bit of a nightmare with the affiliate tracking calculating commissions on the total price at checkout vs the price before things like surcharges for card processing etc.

The end result is this leaves affiliates getting paid a commission on things that they should not.

Is there a setting I’ve missed somewhere to exclude extra charges from price types?https://eventespresso.com/features/default-price-types/

In AffiliateWP I already have tax and shipping set to be excluded. EE includes a Price Type for Tax but not one for Shipping…. (wondering if there is an opportunity to create a Surcharge that gets classified as ‘Shipping’ for AffiliateWP purposes so that its excluded?

Or some other method that’s better?

Hi,

I checked through the code and there are no settings for this. So I can clearly understand the way the ticket prices are set up, and provide a solution for this, may I ask how are taxes set up for your tickets? Is the “this ticket is taxable” checkbox checked or are you using Price Modifier surcharges to charge tax?

We are not currently charging tax.

I have toyed with the notion of doing that just to get the system to calc things correctly, but do not want to deceive people purchasing tickets into thinking they are paying a tax when they are not. (Similarly, though of maybe using the Tax surcharge thing, and then running a text edit on the .mo files or something to turn tax into a different thing when they check out.)

I do not need a perfect solution initially, would love a working work around and maybe a better more elegant option in the future. (Appreciate your follow up on this Josh, I’m going to be traveling for a funeral this weekend/monday, but checking back soon after that. I do not intend to ask a question and then ghost you. This is important to us for lots of reasons, we’re at the beginning of something that needs to scale a lot later.)

If you’re not setting the ticket as taxable, should I assume you’re adding price modifier surcharges then? Maybe you can share a link to an event on your site that has the pricing structure where the total price is different than the net price. This way I can have a starting point towards a solution.
