We have a number of recurring events, but want to show registration for each set separately (we have a page for each set and want to show only the dropdown for that set).
Since the shortcode:

[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”recurring-dropdown”]

doesn’t seem to support specifying a set of recurring events, how do we do this?

Hi Lou Kinard,

The easiest way to achieve this is to place each ‘set’ into its own category when creating the events (or updating).

Then on each individual page, call that specific category using

[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”recurring-dropdown” category_identifier=your_category_identifier]

Does that help?

This will help– is there any other option?

i.e. what we want is to show a drop-down for occurrences of the one event.

I’m sorry I’m not sure I follow.

Can you explain a little more please?

So, for example we have a page that describes the event (which is a recurring event with different dates, but the same event in a series).

On that page, we’d like to offer registration for that event only, but allow a choice of dates, including all dates.

We don’t want to display other non-related event registrations at all on that page.

We could solve it by creating a unique category for each event– but wanted to know if there might be another option.

If you need a specific set of events, then a new category would probably be the best option. Another thing to consider is that certain elements can be hidden on a specific page by using some CSS.

Thanks– just for clarification the “set” of events is the set of repeating instances of one event. i.e. we would like to have one drop-down that includes the set of instances of repeats for the one event. Hope that makes sense?

That is possible but the category would need to be assigned when creating the main event. This is because the main event is used as a template and then additional events are created based on the schedule that you setup.
