Hi there,

On the Invoice, I want to eliminate the line about “must pay in 48 hours” but I don’t see it when I open the Invoice and try to edit.

That sounds like it’s from your Invoice payment method instructions:

Event Espresso -> Payment methods -> Invoice -> Instructions

That text is shown on the payment options step and in the invoice, you can either edit that text or if you only want it removed from the Invoice edit the invoice and remove the [INVOICE_PAYMENT_INSTRUCTIONS] shortcode.

Also, the text references a link to pay online but that link doesn’t show up on the Invoice.

Can you link me to either an invoice for a test registration I can view this on or an event I can register on to create one, please?

My apologies, I wasn’t clear.

I need the links your visitors would use rather than the admin links, I can’t view those without logging in.

The link to the event itself is fine 🙂

So the reference to the payment link on the invoice is from the invoice instructions section mentioned above, if you change those instructions to not include a reference to a link it will no longer display there.

Oh! My apologies, I misunderstand what you wanted.

Ok, so to add the link to the Invoice you go to:

Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates -> Invoice -> Edit Purchaser

Then add the [PAYMENT_LINK_IF_NEEDED_*] shortcode where you want to output a payment link.

That shortcode outputs something like:

You can make a payment here ».

IF the invoice has monies owing, if not then it outputs nothing.

This is COMPLETELY over my head. I am not a programmer.

There is no code involved in the above, it’s a shortcode and does not require any programming skills.

When I edit the Invoice form, I have no idea of where to insert that shortcode or where to get the shortcode. Do I type that in?

You can copy and paste it in, type it in, or use the icon to see all of the available shortcode and click on one to have it inserted wherever your cursor is located.

But you can also type it in, it just needs the shortcode in the location you want to output the link, the above does this: https://monosnap.com/file/7ABk6RkYIleCfsUoCOsOTMVi9bIU9t

Then on the invoice itself, it would look like this: https://monosnap.com/file/a7yveCh4DUKK3ePBQMjnUyaXCpDi7A

I can’t tell you where exactly to add the above as it depends on where you want the link to be output, the example given adds the link just below the Instructions text but you can add it almost anywhere within the template.

I wish Event Expresso provided editing services. I would happily pay for someone’s time to fix these things.
