Hi,

I have 2 types of pricing option one is regular and one is early bird. But If I set early bird pricing it also reducing that discount from regular rate and I want to remove early pricing text from regular rate dropdownlist. How can I remove word surcharge from dropdownlist and add another word instead of it in registration form?

Are you using the Early registration discount feature? You can set this up to override the regular price for a specified time frame instead of offering both at the same time. Look in the “Event Promotions” box for this feature.

To change the surcharge text, go to Event Espresso>General settings and look under Optional event settings. The second option down will let you change the display text for the surcharge label.

Hi… me again:-0

Having an issue with the Early Registration Discount. Whenever I fill in the settings to apply it takes the price down to zero on the EE Registration page. Is there a setting somewhere? I’ve looked at General/Template settings nothing there?

Thanks

I have the same problem, since I upgraded to the latest EE yesterday. I now have to rush through my site removing all the early registration discounts to stop people registering for zero cost.

Help!

Try updating to the very latest version of Event Espresso, which is 3.1.24.3.

That’s what I am using and that’s when the problem started.

Have you updated the add-ons to the latest version? Particularly the wp user integration add-on?

Are they all 1-click upgrades now too?

The only plugins I have turned on are Calendar (v.2.0.3), MailChimp (v.1.0.2), MER (v.1.0.1), Recuring Events (v.1.1.4).

All else is off.

They are, but you’ll need to manually update the older versions of the add-ons first because the older versions do not have the update functions.

From the list you have here, Mailchimp, Multi Event Registration and Recurring events need to be manually updated. Any older versions of plugins should be deleted after updating so the 1-click updates will work.

Also, check for template in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates. If there are templates in that directory from a previous version of Event Espresso, these will need to checked and updated to be compatible with the current version.

With the latest update, pay particular attend to /templates/confirmation_display.php, as the price display was updated as part of some bug fixes. If you have an older version of confirmation_display.php in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates, this needs to be updated.

OK, thanks Josh.

That’s all making my head hurt for now so will have a look (with some help) over the weekend. I have a temporary work around for the moment.

Heya Josh,

Checked and yes using latest version and here is what I get…

On page-event_list it works YAY!
On single-espresso_event and registration-display not so much – the early registration entry takes the base event price to $0

Soooo guess I will take the pricing code from page-event_list and put it in where I need it.

Try comparing the versions of single-espresso_event.php and registration-page-display.php in the new version with the versions you have in the theme and/or in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates.

Hi josh,

Did the comparison. Took the code from single-event_espresso for price and stuck it in registration-page-display. Didn’t work. Believe it is because in single-event_espresso and page-espresso_event it is calling the price from a custom field in the ee post type. In the registration-page display it isn’t?

This is getting very frustrating. In registration-display I placed in the query to the ee post type and the shortcodes for the price like they appear in page-espresso_events and it gives me the price that way but does not apply the early registration discount. I find this very odd – because the page template on it’s own displays the discount appropriately. I haven’t changed anything else on event-list-display.

URL with EE page template where discount works: http://sdcassociates.com/preproduction/page-event-list/

URL with registration-page-display discount not working: http://sdcassociates.com/preproduction/event-registration/?ee=5

I really need a fix for this. and I don’t believe it is anything I’ve done to create the issue.

Thanks

Try using unmodified versions of the stock registration_page_display.php and registration_display.php templates that are included with the current version of Event Espresso (3.1.24.P.3).

Ok I deactivated and deleted EE from my server. Re-unzipped the EE and the recurring events plugin. Re-uploaded those files to the server. EE picked up my previous settings and events. Went to http://sdcassociates.com/preproduction/event-registration/?ee=5

The early registration discount does not show up on the August 8th seminar. When you click on the register link it goes to a registration page that shows the price at $0 on the August 8th (early registration discount event) and $340 (correct price) for the Aug 9th Seminar that does not have the early registration discount on it.

Now that I know – for sure – that I am working with the files out of the box with NO modifications… not even ee cpt… This is obviously a bug. Can you give me a time frame for fixing? I have tried several things with no luck.

Thanks!

Did you delete any files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates? These will override the templates in Event Espresso core.

Ann

YES- completely FRESH install. Don’t mean to yell but yah. Out of the box the pricing is screwed up for event-list-display.php both in recurring and regular. Additional the single_espresso-events.php has the same issue. IT is only an issue when you apply an early registration discount.

Ann

July 18, 2012 at 10:50 am

actually not event-list-display but registration_page_display.php is where the issue lies cause that is where the price is shown.

Ann

Example URL
http://sdcassociates.com/preproduction/event-registration/

Aug 8 no discount – price shows
Aug 9 Early registration discount of $50 shows price $0
