Hi,

Was this a new installation or an update? (if an update, from what version?)

On a live server or local server?

What sort of server is it – IIS (windows) or Apache?

How was the plugin installed? (manually via FTP? via the WP installer?)

Was that the full error or was there anything else?

Thanks!

New installation on a shared hosting environment, Apache.

The plugin was installed via the WP plugin installer via upload.

This is the error I receive:
Could not copy file. event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/core/libraries/messages/message_type/cancelled_registration/EE_Messages_Email_Cancelled_Registration_Validator.class.php

Thanks for the info!

Most likely it was a corrupt install.

Please start by backing up your site.

Download a fresh copy of the latest version of Event Espresso, from your account page.

Then deactivate EE on your site and remove the plugin.

Then upload the new version of EE4 you have just downloaded through Plugins -> Add new -> Upload Plugin.

Activate it and it should work from there.

would you like to log in and check it yourself? if so, it is a test site so you will need to add an entry to your host file in **redacted**

Hi Deborah,

I removed the password information you posted here as this is a public forum.

Here’s what you can do to fix the plugin installation error:

1) Check and make sure that your server has the permissions that allow WordPress to copy files to the /plugins folder. Generally speaking, the correct permission should be 0755 for the folders and 0644 for the files, however this may differ on your server, so please contact your host and they can verify.

2) If changing the file permissions isn’t an option right now, you can follow this guide to FTP the files up:
