Duplicating Events overwrites posts

I have the same event happening in multiple cities and thought the Duplicate event feature was an awesome way to add new city-events and not having to retype the whole thing.

When I tried to Duplicate Event, I noticed that the post associated with the original event is getting overwritten by the duplicate post.

Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

On the Event, “Add/Update Post for this Event” is set to “Yes”

Thanks for your help!

Hello Rishitejo,

I don’t think you are missing anything. The events are linked to the same post, so updating one or the other will force those changes on the post.

I will speak to the dev’s on this one as I am unsure if this is a planned effect or not.

Hi,

Just an update. This is a known situation and it is something that is being looked into. Unfortunately we can’t give a time scale on fixing this.

We are currently developing 3.2 and I am hopeful that this will be remedied in that release, if not earlier.
