Hello I duplicated an event – and the attendees to the original event transferred over to the new event – how do I get the attendees back to the original event?

Hi Teresa,

That shouldn’t happen. Can you check the event ID’s for the two events? What is the event_id for the event that has the attendees, and what is the event_id that doesn’t have the attendees?

Here is the event that had 11 attendess 3-51e56522ce9-52028f892f521
Here is the one that was the duplicated event: 3-51e56522ce976-3-51e56522ce976

i did delete the attendees (but I printed a copy of the excel) sheet so I can manually reenter them.. maybe you can help either undelete or restore? We have many events and copy a few of them often… normally the attendees carry across when I duplicate the events. I then just delete the attendees from the new event but this time they disappeared from the original event arrggghhh

I was actually looking to know the event ID not the unique event identifier. We need to verify which event is the original and which one is the copied event. The original event will have a lower ID.

Well can you tell me where to find that ID for the event?

Have 3 events, one is 48 (original), 27 and then 47

Hi Teresa,

48 has to be a copy since the event ID’s start with 1 and increase by 1 each time an event is added. If you look at events 47 and 48, do they match? If so 47 would be the original and 48 would be the newly created event.

I really appreciate your help but I find that my support questions/help is not always helpful. Instead of just telling me what it is.. how about how to fix the issue? The issue is my attendees are missing, now that i understand the ID, how do I go about getting the original event restored or what is the solution, is it just adding them in manually or can we find the original? It would be helpful if all the steps were added when issues are submitted for support, instead of just step by step going back and forth. It would then stop me looking for hours on the support forum to find a solution which I did not and then having to go back and forth with you. You know the program exactly, I am still learning it.
Thanks for your help

Hi Teresa,

I don’t think there is an issue that needs to be fixed in this case. From our discussion here it seems like there may be some confusion over which event is the original and which event is the copy.

Oftentimes it takes some questions and answers in order to troubleshoot. I’m sorry that this is taking longer than usual to narrow down the issue.

In this case, if the original event is closed for registration (or not active) you’ll need to adjust the event status filter on the event overview that lets you view inactive events.
