Duplicating attendee #1 info for additional registrants

Hello. For parents registering spouse and children, we want them to have the ability to copy just their address, email and phone to additional registrant fields. Tried using the function referenced in this forum post:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/duplicate-event-attendee-1-info-for-additional-registrants/

…but it has no affect. After clearing site and browser caches, ticking the copy box still copies ALL of Attendee #1 information to additional attendees (including question answers).

Also, is there any way to change the code so that it instead does an “include”? That would be far more efficient as we won’t have to continually update this function each time we come up with a custom question. Only the address, telephone, and email fields ever require copying by all those parents who must also register their children.

Regards,
Chris

Greetings,

So, on a whim, I decided to take the same code snippet:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/19b04ccefc13e109ad52bdd73002907a

…and insert it within its own custom site specific plugin. That worked out beautifully. I guess some longer code snippets only work in a custom function plugin? With that we can now ensure that the “Copy Attendee Information” feature in EE4 excludes copying first name, last name, email, and custom questions.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a way to make an “include” array so that only the address, telephone and email are always copied. Which is a pity, as we are always making new custom questions to ask during registration.

Regards,
Chris
