Hi there, The email you posted here is the one that gets sent to the contact email address set in Event Espresso>General settings. It’s a registration notification for the administrator. It comes from event-espresso/includes/functions/email.php. |

I seem to be having this problem as well, the address defined in the general settings is getting two copies of the registration confirmation email. Any ideas? |
Is it for a single event registration or was it a multi-event registration where two different events were registered for? If it’s the former, there are a number of things that can cause this: An older gateway folder copied to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways (the newer version of Event Espresso fires the email from a hook outside the gateways. The older versions of Event Espresso fired the email from a hook from inside the gateways.) A caching plugin could also cause this, and if there may even be a communication issue between the site and the payment processor. If the payment processor doesn’t receive a receipt confirmation of the payment notification from your site it may try sending another one. In order to rule out whether it’s communication issue these are some details we could use: Which payment option is active? Are emails set to go out after payment? Are there any security plugins installed on the site? |
It was for a single event registration, using FirstData ggE4. Paypal is the only other option active. Emails are set to go out after payment, but I only see one place to control that so I’m not sure how it would cause duplicates. As for security plugins, I’m not sure what you mean? |
Do the emails get duplicated when the PayPal payment option is used? Or only with First Data E4? These are some examples of the plugins I’m referring to: http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=Bad+Behavior+&sort= http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=block+spam&sort= http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=security&sort= With the gateways, are there any files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways? |
No, definitely no security plugins of that sort. The paypal option sends emails fine. No, the directory /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways is present, but contains no files. |
Which version of Event Espresso is installed? |
Event Espresso – 3.1.32.2.P |
Thanks for checking. I will pull that version and install it on my test site and get back with you on what I find. |

Thanks! Normally I don’t mind just updating out of hand, but we’re currently in the middle of our summer festival and have been taking on lots of traffic. |
Hi there, Can you check on a few things? First, in your copy of /gateways/firstdata_e4/e4_ipn.php there’s a line ~ 100 (might be 105) that should read: //add_action('action_hook_espresso_email_after_payment', 'espresso_email_after_payment'); Are the two slashes in place? This will comment out the line so the code does not execute. Also, are the payments made from First Data E4 getting marked as complete? In addition, is the default payment status set to Incomplete, Payment, or Complete? This is set globally in Event Espresso>General settings and can be overridden for specific events within the event editor. Normally in the event editor it’s set to “No Change”. So if it’s set to No Change it will use what’s set in Event Espresso>General Settings. |
