Hello, When people are registering, they come up as duplicates in the attendees list. Information on both – in most cases – is identical. Only once has there been a problem where in one record, the total amount due was $0, and the other was correct ($199). How to fix?

There were a few recent fixes that were introduced around Event Espresso 3.1.19, so I would recommend updating to the latest version of Event Espresso if you have not already done so. These prevented duplicates when users were submitting their registrations twice.
If this is happening consistently, you could check for a plugin conflict. A number of social media type plugins will silently reload the contents of the registration page. So while someone is viewing a confirmation page, there could be other plugin code executing that is adding these attendees into the database more than once.
Deactivate all WordPress plugins then run a test transaction. If there are no duplicates, continue re-activating plugins one-by-one until and testing each time you activate a plugin. When you get a duplicate, you’ve found the plugin.
To further help narrow this down, if you have a caching plugin installed, we recommend disabling caching for the pages that handle the registrations and payment info. See this section of the troubleshooting documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-event-espresso/#duplicate
