Duplicate event – bugs

Hello,

While waiting for the recurring events extension, one feature that I use very often is duplicate event – to be able to create the same event for different dates.

I have found the following bugs in this feature – let me know if there is a way I can fix this myself or if they will be address in a future release:

1. The new duplicate event do not copy over the notification preferences (I use custom message templates a lot), everything resets to global notifications.

2. I have mailchimp connected, and I have groups in mailchimp (one group for english speaking and one for french). So a french event has mailchimp french group selected. When I duplicate any event, the new event cannot somehow connect to mailchimp to get the groups. So I have to every time select “Do not send to Mailchimp”, and then reselect my mailchimp list to get the groups back.

3. Not sure if that’s to do with EE4 or my theme (Avada), but the new event duplicate does not copy the post preferences. I chosse not to show the footer for the events via the theme, but the duplicate always resets this choice back to default.

Thanks,

Hello Oguzhan,

I’ve created tickets to also duplicate information from 1 and 2.

Your theme settings are not duplicated as Event Espresso isn’t aware of your individual theme settings.

Update: Event Espresso 4.9.45 includes a fix for the featured image, tags, selected email templates, and page template selection not getting copied over when an event is duplicated. Event Espresso 4.9.45 is released and is available as a 1-click update from your WP Dashboard’s Plugins page. You can trigger an update notice (if you don’t see one yet) by going to the Event Espresso > General Settings page then click on Save.

Hi Josh,

Great news, thanks! 🙂

Is the mailchimp connection issue (point #2) also going to be fixed soon?

Hi Oguzhan,

I do not know what’s going on with the MailChimp ticket.
