Had one in EE3 – can I have it in EE4 – rather ungainly with 10+ amounts to pick from especially since they cannot fill in their own.

Hi there,
No, EE4 does not have this.
The dropdown you are referring to in EE3 was the price list dropdown, it listed all of the prices setup in an event and the user selected a single ticket type to register onto.
We didn’t take that direction with EE4 and chose to use the ticket selector to show the prices which then allows the user to select a combination of tickets.
The only dropdown’s I’ve seen that will add additional charges to the registration is from a 3rd party add-on call the Price Modifier Add-on, available here:

That basically allows you to assign ‘values’ to questions on the registration form for the user to select, the value selected will be added onto the transaction before they are directed to the payment options page.

That add on won’t help and this is very messy maybe I can get them to cut down the number of donation options ….is this on a wish list?

Moving back to a single dropdown for ticket selections, is not on the wish list.
We intentionally moved away from that set up with EE4 so wont be moving back to it.
A ‘pay what you want/donation’ feature is on out roadmap here:

However, we prioritize our developments (partially) based on the number of votes for features and with many others with higher numbers of votes it is unlikely to be included ‘soon’.
(I say partially becuase we also have our own plans for EE, users votes help us choose features to add and when but the only metric used in the decision we make)

odd thought i had answered this – – signed the‘pay what you want/donation feature years ago – am the SC on the list – good to think you are finally considering adding it – so needed by those of us that think of you as being more than ticket sales!
