How do I have a “select” first, but that
is not one of the dropdown required options? Example: Gender – Female; Male.
I don’t want it to be default filled out with Female, the first value option.
You have this capacity built into the Country and State/Provide dropdowns, so how do we make this possible in our own created dropdown custom questions?

You can add a blank option and set its description as “Select”, as shown in this screenshot:
