Can you look into something for me? It seems that when you buy a ticket for an event, the downloadable ticket/qr code is not being emailed or received by the purchaser? The first test emailed a file attachment with the details of the person who booked, the link to the venue and a QR code that could be scanned by using your custom downloadable app from the Android/ifone app store. What could be causing this do you think?

Hi Martin,

Are you just not seeing the QR code in the emails? You can add the [qr_code] email tag in the Email Settings of EE.

Or, are the emails not being received? Mail failure is often server related as we just use the standard wp_mail() function. Have they checked to see if these emails are getting caught in the spam folder? This is the usual case. Also, you may want to look into a service that can be used to send transactional emails through the PostMark or Mandrill services. These services are designed to ensure email delivery and are highly recommended. They also have WordPress plugins.
