Display problems with Paypal payment page

Hi, I’ve just turned on the Paypal payment option, and its working correctly, but there are a couple of problems with the way the payment page is displaying.

1. The Paypal button is missing. I’ve checked and think that I have the correct link, so am not sure what the problem is: http://www.training4logistics.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-free/gateways/paypal/btn_stdCheckout2.gif

2. Under the “Please choose a payment option heading” I’m seeing the small arrow and box icon which denotes an external link. I’m only using Paypal, so the payment option heading doesn’t make sense, and the icon does not have a link. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

#1 and #2 are related in that the image URL is pointing to the lite version of Event Espresso. Since you’re likely on the paid version and the lite version has been removed, you can update the image URL to be:

http://www.training4logistics.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways/paypal/btn_stdCheckout2.gif

which looks like the above link works.

With #2, it will say “Please choose a payment option” even if PayPal is the only option. Since PayPal takes the payment info on its site, the arrow/box icon that informs the customer that they’ll be taken to is correct in that they will be taken to an external site to enter their payment info.

Hope that helps!

Great, thanks very much. All fine now.

One query – I would like to change the “Please choose a payment option” text but am having difficulty finding the file. I thought it would be payment_page.php but apparently not – can you advise?

We typically advise to change text strings by another means than in the actual plugin files. You’ll find that it’s difficult to maintain changes made to files when updating Event Espresso.

Here’s some alternative suggestions from our documentation on how to change text strings:
