Discount code does not apply properly

Hello. We are selling courses and offering a siblings discount in the amount of $50 per registration to a course.

Today, after a big registration I noticed that the coupon code does not apply properly. They bought 5 registrations to 3 courses. Please find the invoice at https://alphastar.academy/wp-content/uploads/AlphaStar%20Academy%20Invoice%20for%20Transaction-%20131.pdf.

I have several problems:
1- The discount is not applied to each of 5 registrations. “Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items” is selected as yes in the promotion settings page.
2- The sub-total is incorrect in the invoice. It should have been $4,325.00.
3- Where do I edit “Please send this invoice with payment attached to the address above, or use the payment link below. Payment must be received within 48 hours of event date.” text in the invoice.

Thanks…

Hi there,

The $50 discount applies to the cart, it does not apply a $50 discount to each ticket. You can use a percentage discount instead.

2- The sub-total is incorrect in the invoice. It should have been $4,325.00.

That’s actually correct because the sub total shortcode totals up the tickets and price modifiers, in this case the discounts. The subtotal doesn’t include taxes.

The “Please send” text can be changed in the Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Invoice settings.

Thanks for the prompt reply Josh, but it does not add up.

1- If what you said was true about the discount being applied to the cart, then the discount would be only $50 instead of $100.
There sure is some inconsistencies in the discount application.

The percentage is not an option for us. It would mess up our policies and promises. Our policy is to give $50 per ticket. How can I achieve that?

2- The way the invoice laid out, the customer will think the discounts are not applied.

My mistake, the promo codes can be applied per event per cart. Not per ticket though. It’s not possible at this time to achieve a per ticket discount by using promotion codes. That is a feature that’s being tracked on the feature requests trello board:

https://trello.com/c/zCsClu98/112-promotions-add-ticket-scope-to-promotion

You can change the way the invoice is laid out by going to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates > Invoice.

Still, if you look at the https://alphastar.academy/wp-content/uploads/AlphaStar%20Academy%20Invoice%20for%20Transaction-%20131.pdf file you will see only 2 discounts are applied to 3 events.

There were two discount codes applied in total and the two were applied to two of the events (only one code per event). You can see which events the discount codes were applied to by viewing the receipt, then click on the link to make a payment, which will bring you to the front end of the site where you can review each line item for each event that was in the cart for that session.
