Hi there,

That thread applies to EE3, I’m assuming you are using EE4?

With EE4 you have a couple of options, I’m assuming you want the emails to be from the event authors email address?

Yes, I’m using EE4.

I would like to do the following:
– Sending E-Mails from authors email address via GSuite (Gmail) – I don’t know if there is a plugin which can handle different From Addresses (in general I use https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ but I don’t know if this plugin can handle different from addresses)

Thx.

Hi Netwerker,

If each event author has their own email address (where the email address is set in their WP User account), then you set the following shortcode into the email template’s “From:” field:
[EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]

You can edit the email templates by going to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message templates, then click through to the active emails templates you want to edit.

You can’t use that shortcode in the batch emails as they are built using the EE contacts and do not have access to event data.

To do the above in batch emails you would need to create a custom template for batch the email and hardcode the email address into the to field, then select that custom template for the specific event you are sending the email for.
