Description Textbox not working

I have installed the LITE verison. However, when I tried to enter the description the event, I was not able to key in anything for the textbox.

I have disabled all my plugins, still, it is not working. All the icons on top of the textbox cannot be seen.

I have tried it on Firefox and Internet Explorer but both have the same results.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Hello Peter,

Only time I have seen issues like that it is due to a javascript conflict. I know you said you have disabled all plugins, have you tested with the default twentyeleven theme as well?

I have the current lite version installed on a test server (twentyeleven, no plugins) and it works just fine.

If it isn’t a JS conflict with the theme, then I would advise removing EE and reinstalling in case the installation went wrong (unusual but it can happen with plugins).

Hi!

I changed the theme, and i realized it is my theme that is causing the conflict. However, this theme was actually bought for the website, and I would have to use it 🙁

Would you have any suggestion to go ahead with this?

Hey Peter,

I thought it might be the theme. Can you link your site in question so I can get a better idea what the issue might be (reactivate the them please). I can’t guarantee I can pinpoint it from the front end but there is usually a marker to tell us what the issue is.

Hi Peter,

It would be best to contact the developer of the theme since you’ve discovered that switching to another theme resolves this. You can suggest them to contact us via our contact page if they have technical questions. Since the lite version is easily downloaded from the WordPress.org plugin repository, you might pass on the idea that they can download it from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/event-espresso-free/
and test this for themselves and fix their theme so that it doesn’t output its scripts into other plugins’ admin pages.
